Morning Mentors '22-'23
We are continuing in-person tutoring for the Spring of 2023!
Vaccinations and masks are both strongly encouraged but not required for mentors, students, and teachers.
The LAST week of Morning Mentors for this quarter will be the week of, May 21st!
We are always looking to train more mentors to start in September of 2023 at Nichols MS! Contact us if you're a current graduate student or postdoc at Northwestern and you are interested!
We're looking forward to a fun and productive new year with everyone!
Morning Mentors is a collaboration between Nichols Middle School students and graduate students at Northwestern University. Seeing a need in the community for an improvement in fundamental math and reading skills, two NU grad students reached out to Nichols Middle School to volunteer their time. From the pilot program, Morning Mentors has expanded to help many middle school students and has provided numerous graduate students from various departments the opportunity to help out in the community. Each morning, mentors and mentees work together to review basic arithmetic skills, complete homework assignments, and study for tests.
Prospective mentors and students, please join us from 7:15-8:00am Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the library of Nichols Middle School!
